How the progress estimate works
The reading companion helps you plan your reading sessions by providing realistic time estimates for each story. These estimates are based on the median reading speed for English prose, and they are adjusted for the specific length of each text.
Keep in mind that actual reading time can vary depending on your pace and the complexity of the story. The estimates are a starting point, not a guarantee.
Length Categories
Stories are grouped into short, medium, long, and epic based on word count. Most archive titles fall into the short category.
Reading Sessions
Use the rough time buckets—quick, steady, immersive—to choose a story that fits the time you have available.
